Sleman, Indonesia — On November 14th, 2024, the Casa 1-3 children of Bambini Montessori School (BMS) had a delightful day of exploration and recreation alongside their teachers and parents at Puri Mataram, Yogyakarta. This integrated tourism destination, rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage, provided the perfect setting for the students to immerse themselves in a blend of learning and fun. The field trip aimed to introduce students to the unique architecture and atmosphere of Puri Mataram while enjoying various attractions such as the serene lake, lush parks, and mini zoo. This outing offered an engaging way to connect with nature, culture, and education, all in one enriching journey.
The children began their day by strolling through the vibrant Aglaonema Park, marveling at the colorful plants. A special highlight was the creation of personalized family tree photo collages. Guided by their teachers and parents, the children eagerly pieced together their family tree photos on paper, proudly displaying their growing artistic and organizational skills. The excitement continued with a culinary treat: Cenil, a traditional Indonesian dessert. The colorful, sweet, and chewy delicacy captivated the children's senses. They waited patiently in line, their anticipation growing as they sampled this delightful local snack.
This field trip wasn't just a day of recreation. It was a meaningful extension of classroom learning, providing a gateway to fine, gross sensory, and motor skill development. Having the opportunities to walk through nature, talking, laughing, working collaboratively with others, and trying delicious foods fulfilled their sense as a human being. Field trips like this are vital for early childhood development. They stimulate all five senses, nurture empathy, and encourage active learning through hands-on experiences, blending fun with essential life skills.
The Bambini Montessori School's Casa 1-3 joyful field day was a celebration of learning, connection, and the joy of discovery!
